14. TRANSFORMING THE LOWER SELF USING HIGHER SELF MEDITATION
Please note: You will not transform the Lower Self and remove fears using standard meditation. An exception to this is the Vipassana meditation technique that is designed to remove Lower Self fear-based emotions.
Although the Vipassana meditation technique is encouraged, we will use the Higher Self meditation technique to bring in the Higher Self and then bring in the Lower Self parts into the meditation to: 1] Express Lower Self emotions using Gestalt Therapy, 2] Enable the Lower Self to change its identity, and 3] Allow Forgiveness to take place if the Lower Self permits.
Step 1 - Higher Self Meditation
Relax in a comfortable position with your eyes closed, sitting upright. Focus your attention on your third-eye chakra. Repeat the words in your mind "I AM MY HIGHER SELF" for 5 minutes until you feel connected to your Higher Self.
Step 2 - Connecting to a Painful or Fearful Emotion
While connected to your Higher Self, focus your attention on a painful or fearful emotion within your Lower Self. Choose to be either the Higher Self or Lower Self for this entire meditation process.
Higher Self Role: Connect to a painful or fearful emotion and "visualize" the part of your Lower Self that is connected to this emotion - as a separate being.
Lower Self Role: "Become" the energy of this Lower Self part and its emotion.
Step 3 - Expressing Emotions using Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt Therapy is when you visualize yourself speaking with another person in your mind - you say what you have to say to that person - and you visualize or imagine what they would say in response.
Higher Self Role: Give your Lower Self part a voice. Let it say and express to you what it wants to say and express. Imagine what it is saying to you.
Lower Self Role: Say or express what you need to say to your Higher Self.
Step 4 - Dialoging between Higher Self and Lower Self
Higher Self Role: Respond to your Lower Self part and ask relevant questions. Then imagine how your Lower Self would reply to your response. Then keep the conversation going.
Lower Self Role: Allow your Higher Self to respond and ask you questions. Imagine what your Higher Self would say to you. Then keep the conversation going.

Lower Self Role: Imagine your Higher Self asking you if you can forgive yourself. Be prepared for a long conversation.
Optional Step - Enabling the Lower Self to Change its Identity
This step enables the Lower Self to change its own identity. For example, the Angry-Hateful part would normally say: "I AM angry". It would change its identity by affirming the opposite thought such as: "I AM Unconditional Love".
This step can be used after the Forgiveness Step or it can be used on its own. If using it on its own - go into the Higher Self meditation, connect to a Lower Self emotion, express the emotion/s and do the following:
On Its Own: As the Lower Self part say: "I let go of these feelings of [for example: anger and hate] that relate to ..." Then say: "I AM Unconditional Love" over and over, until you feel the energy of anger and hate leave you.
Higher Self Role: Ask the Lower Self part if it would like to be free of its negative energy. If it says yes, then guide it to say the opposite thought of its accepted identity. If it is [for example] the Guilty-Scared part, you might guide it to say: "I AM Forgiveness. I AM Innocence. I AM Safe" over and over, until you feel the energy of guilt and fear leave.
Lower Self Role: Imagine your Higher Self asking you if you would like to be free of your negative energy. If you agree, imagine your Higher Self guiding you to say the opposite thought of your accepted identity. If you are [for example] the Unfulfilled-Bored part, you might imagine your Higher Self guiding you to say" "I AM Fulfilled by God. I AM Excited by Life. I AM Joy" over and over, until you feel the unfulfilled and bored energy leave this part.
Below is a suggested list of new identities:
Proud-Hurt Part: I AM Understanding I AM One with All Scared-Guilty Part: I AM Forgiveness I AM Forgiven Self-Doubting Part: I AM Confidence I AM God Perfection Angry-Hateful Part: I AM Unconditional Love Lonely-Sad-Depressed Part: I AM Loving I AM One with God Unfulfilled-Bored Part: I AM Excited by Life I AM Filled with Love Competitive-Challenging Part: I AM Sharing I AM Supportive Deceptive-Shadow Part: I AM Open I AM Honest Judgmental-Critical Part: I AM Kind I AM Forgiving Aggressive Controlling: I AM Safe I AM Peace Skeptical-Not Trusting Part: I AM Trusting I AM Loved Selfish-Self Centered Part: I AM Selfless I AM Giving
Optional Role - The Lower Self and the Ascended Masters
This is an optional role. Instead of you taking the role of Lower Self, you take the role of Higher Self but you remain an "observer" only. You "visualize" the Lower Self part as a separate being and you visualize it coming before a "council of elders" - Ascended Masters in the spiritual heavens.
Observer Role: "Visualize" your Lower Self part coming before the "council of elders" and expressing its truth and its emotions, uncensored. Imagine the "council of elders" responding who speak on behalf of God and continue the conversation. Open your mind to different scenarios. The energy of the Ascended Masters are actually IN your meditation and will put thoughts and words and imagery into your mind to help facilitate the healing and transformation of your Lower Self. Stay open-minded.
